Sometime back I was looking to do a Hong Kong themed noise album.
My visit to Hong Kong prompted me to study how Hong Kong Noise was different espeacially from Singapore.

I particularly like this Video because it was filmed with a sound engineer involved.

So I realized I listened to hifi quality of Hong Kong environmental noise. What really fascinated me was the noise put me to sleep. Yes, it was white noise, the same noise you would heard in your Mother's tummy as a fetus.

Well, it was after all noise and maybe I was sleepy.

The same film maker also film urban noise in Jaffna.

From here what constituted to the noise came from many origin of the urban environment:

A. Type of vehicle involve the economic and geographical nature of the place. For example because Hong Kong is high density the busses are large and strong. They are also air condition somtHe noise of the busses had a Low engineer roar and the aircon compressor noise. The Jaffna busses were naturally ventilated and were old sort that rattles.

B. The urbanscape cause bounce , reverberation and absorption of the noise you encounter. So the streets of Hongkong are mostly tall row shop houses going up at least twelve stores. The noise generated is bounced a few times over.

C. Frequcy of use of noise generator becomes part of the vocabulary the noise profile. Ythis frequency of use related to the population density. The population density also command the quality of scale.

So in all fascination, noise now has a lineage, a species and an anatomy.
