Blogger's Block

I couldn't find a topic to write hence, perhaps this would be the topic. Maybe it is because I am in Singapore.

What causes a writers block? So like everyone else we check the Wikipedia:

WRITER'S BLOCK

1. distracted by other events
2. physical illness,
3. depression
4. end of relationship
5. financial pressures
6. sense of failure

the cure:

a. class and group discussion,
b. journals,
c. free writing and brainstorming,
d. clustering,
e list making, and
f. engaging with the text

and obviously

PLAGLARIZING

but how can this be plagiarism when I have honestly declared that I copied all these information for publication. I suppose it becomes larger than life foot notes. If you cant understand footnotes then you were born after 2007.

So let's get back to writers block.

Prescribed by Lawrence Oliver Jr, to over come a writers block one can try systematic questioning and freewriting,.

SYSTEMATIC QUESTIONING
Pioneered by Socrates, is an irritating process that Singaporeans dont like. A series of probing or egomaniac challenge that is Kryptonite to Singaporeans.

'Why do you say that?', 'Could you explain further?'

'Is this always the case?', 'Why do you think that this assumption holds here?'

'Why do you say that?', 'Is there reason to doubt this evidence?'

'What is the counter-argument?', 'Can/did anyone see this another way?'

'But if...happened, what else would result?', 'How does...affect...?'

and then to mess the chessboard if you cant play the game well;

'Why do you think that I asked that question?', 'Why was that question important?', 'Which of your questions turned out to be the most useful?'

So maybe the writer with a writer's block was absolving themselves from becoming assholes.

Oh , but a writer's block is the lack of CRITICAL THINKING and that will overcome our native egocentrism. It is the process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information to reach an answer or conclusion.

In short, it s OK to have writer block in Singapore as you are most welcomed.
